we are the hands and feet. we are the arms and legs. we carry the boxes and blankets. we fill the trucks and fill the apartments. we distribute couches and beds and pots and pans. we find tangible things that people need. we help people start life over... from shelter to home. we hope they can live their lives without fear. this is our actions log.

We responded to a housing crisis. We moved a veteran facing homelessness due to eviction. Client had no toilet or warm water since February. The apartment was infested with insects and bird feces.
We were able to relocate the client immediately due to the fast and promising actions of the Freedom House Veterans Shelter. Our partnership always proves strong in the midst of crisis.
We will perform a follow up visit with client in the weeks to come.

Donation P/U:
gas stove and microwave
We've spent the last two weeks working on moving a family of five from Ravenna to Kent. We had a lot to contend with in terms of raising money on behalf of this family in order to get them a security deposit. We made arrangements with the landlord so that we could deal directly with being able to obtain this apartment and the landlord was cooperative when it came to dealing with ARM. The four girls all need to be enrolled in school and have missed the first week already. ARM took them out to buy new school clothes and provided them with four new bookbags with school supplies.
Also...
Last week ARM was able to deliver 2 new beds for two boys( 4 and 6 years old) that were previous clients of a shelter here in Portage County.
