May - December

  • ARM moved a full truck load of clothing and household goods from a rummage sale to the County Clothing Center.
  • ARM delivered a table for Freedom House client.
  • ARM obtained a refrigerator within two days of a request for one and picked it up and installed it for a single mom who had been out of a refrigerator for over a month.
  • ARM picked up two dressers, a washer and dryer, two sets of dishes.
  • ARM delivered dryer to a family in need.
  • ARM delivered washer to family in need.
  • ARM delivered two dressers to a family in need.
  • ARM moved donations from Riverwood storage to Stow Alliance Storage.
  • ARM has a garage full of donations on stand-by in Brimfield due for pick up during the week of May 4.
  • ARM delivered a couch, bed and kitchen ware to a clients of Miller House.
  • ARM obtained Frozen meats, canned goods and cereal for the ARM pantry.
  • ARM will pick up and move all leftover donations at Longcoy Rummage Sale(saturday May 2) and deliver it to County Clothing Center.
  • ARM supported the moves of 5 veterans within the Freedom House care in May
  • ARM has networked with CORE
  • ARM obtained 2 new storage units, one sponsored by Defiance Tattoos
  • ARM moved a family of 4 from Safer Futures and made a follow up visit within one week.
  • ARM made 4 donation pick ups week of July 6
  • ARM made 2 donation pickups and supported a move for a homeless teen in Wadsworth.
  • ARM made 1 donation pick up in Canton - 2 dressers, wrap around sleeper sofa, recliner, baby clothes, bassinet, various baby accessories - week of July 20
  • ARM picked up 2 twin bed(whole sets) plus Queen Frame, bookshelf week of July 27
  • ARM made 4 donation pick ups: Giant Entertainment Center, Twin Beds, 2 Queen Beds, Couch, Chair, Dining Room Table, Lawn Mower, Various miscellaneous items(silverware, toasters, microwave, etc...) week of August 3
  • ARM delivered and installed a refrigerator for a handicapped man.[kent]
  • Furnished apartment. Discovered mom and 2 kids living out of cooler and microwave. Searched and located, delivered and installed a stove and refrigerator[ravenna]. Took about a month to get it together.
  • Family moved from Safer Futures.
  • Furnished apartment for single mom with a son(Streetsboro) random call.
  • 2 weeks worth of food pulled together for a family in need.
  • 1 queen bed/box spring/frame purchased(brand new)
  • 1 full bed/box spring/frame purchased(brand new)
  • $435.00 total
  • for two women being moved out of Safer Futures
  • 2 Families moved from Safer Futures in 2 days back to back then picked up 2 tv’s, couch and chair. Returned the following week to deliver televisions and follow up.
  • Applied to be able to obtain items considered to be possible donations from Akron University.
  • Family of 6 moved from Safer Futures(2 week newborn) to Silver Meadows.
  • 8 separate donations picked up in one day. About 7 hours of labor. All labor provided by FH Vets.
  • Family of 3 moved from Miller House to Ravenna. Furnishings delivered.
  • Thanksgiving dinners donated by Valvoline Instant Oil Change. Enough for 7 families.
  • Another meal thanksgiving meal from Toyota - dishwasher at Pizza Hut in the parking lot!!
  • Furnished an efficiency apartment for single woman from Coleman.
  • Responded to a single-mother with 3 kids in Ravenna. Groceries were dropped off and wish-list for furniture was made up. (mom and kids have been homeless for a year - following mom’s incarceration).
  • Delivered a donated refrigerator to a family in Ravenna.
  • Furnished a living room for a Freedom House veteran.
  • 2 donation pick ups: Kitchen table, dishes, tupperware, sheets(stow) :: sofa, chairs, & stereo(akron)
  • Working on toddler bed for family in Ravenna.
  • Prepping for SF move.
  • 4 separate donation pick ups.
  • -3 sofas, 2 arm chairs, electric can opener, throw cover, queen mattress, twin mattress, 3 twin boxes, 12 lamps.
  • Family of four moved from SF + Single mom moved into Coleman efficiency apts within 6 days of each other. ff
  • University of Akron donation of over 100 furniture items(beds, arm chairs, coffee tables, dining room chairs...) 3 trips in ARM truck
  • Mosaic donation of bedding/bathroom/kitchen supplies dropped off at Vineyard building.
  • Family of 4 moved from SF(3rd move in 10 days). ff
  • Over 200 teddy bears delivered throughout Silver Meadows on Christmas Eve.
  • 2 new front tires put on ARM truck.
  • ARM paid half rent for Hope 413/ARM/BarbieRose offices.
  • Breakfast with FH Veterans and Vet’s Advocate.
  • Veteran moved out of FH. ff
